What's New?
Introduction
- The Activa has been the best-seller scooter for Honda for several years.
- The 2025 edition is updated to comply with the new OBD2B emission norms.
- It also gets additional features to keep it relevant in the market.
- Available in three variants, STD, DLX, and H-Smart, the price of the scooter has also started going up.
Features and Equipment
- Even in 2025 the overall design has remained unchanged from the original version.
- However, now the DLX variant can be had with alloy wheels instead of steel wheels.
- These are the same seen on the top-end H-Smart variant.
- However, tech-wise, the latest update is in the form of a new 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
- It is compatible with the Honda RoadSync smartphone app.
- Also, it offers connected features like turn-by-turn navigation and call/message alerts.
- Notably, the TFT screen and connectivity features are only available in the top-spec H-Smart variant of the Activa.
- Another addition to the scooter's feature list is a USB Type-C charging port.

Engine and Gearbox
- Honda has made some minor changes and tuned the engine of the Activa.
- The internal changes to its engine have caused a marginal increment in its power and torque output.
- This OBD2B-compliant, 109.51cc, air-cooled engine produces 7.8bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.05Nm at 5,500rpm.

car&bike Expert Take
“The Honda Activa 6G is a familiar face in the crowded Indian scooter market. Firmly established with both modern tech and old-school reliability, it’s a non-experimental, proven two-wheeler that gets your daily driving tasks done without bothering you at all.”
Honda Activa 6G Overview
It’s no secret that the Activa lineup is responsible for Honda's stronghold on India’s commuter segment. With more than 3.5 crore units sold since 2001, this scooter essentially started making gearless two-wheelers popular in India, and the 6G edition continues that run without any turbulence. It does not chase aggressive styling like much more modern scooters are doing to turn the younger riders’ heads. Instead, the Activa keeps betting on being an ideal small-family scooter with tremendous rider comfort, predictable handling, and strong fuel economy onboard.
Depending on the variant, there’s either an analogue or a semi-digital instrument cluster in the latest Activa. While the 2023 update brought H-Smart technology to the scooter, Honda further juiced up their offering in the most recent 2025 update with OBD2B compliance, a USB Type-C type charging port, and an idling stop system for saving fuel in traffic. There is also a dedicated smart key fob here, mimicking keyless ignition as modern cars have.
Although the scooter landed in the Indian market with the ‘G’ always following the ‘Activa’ tag, Honda has removed the ‘6G’ suffix in 2023 to make the name simpler. When the H-Smart variant went on sale, Kingshuk Dutta had checked out its firstlook, and Mihir Barve shared some snippets regarding its core features. We have added their opinions in this review to help you understand how the vehicle competes against rivals in the Indian market today.
The Honda Activa, throughout its many generations, has relied on its proven 109.51 cc engine. It focuses on low-end punch to get you off the line quickly. During our tests, the power delivery felt smooth, and we did not need to twist the throttle too hard to find our footing in city traffic.
Engine & Transmission
| Specification | Details |
| Engine | 109.51 cc, Air-Cooled, Single-Cylinder |
| Power | 7.88 bhp @ 8000 rpm |
| Torque | 9.05 Nm @ 5500 rpm |
| Transmission | CVT Automatic |

City Riding Experience
Navigating tight lanes is where this scooter shines. The throttle response is linear, which prevents jerky movements when you are stuck behind a crawling bus. The suspension tuning handles small potholes well, saving your back from harsh jolts.
Highway Riding Experience
However, taking the Activa 6G on an open highway requires patience. It cruises comfortably up to 60 kmph, but pushing past 75 kmph brings in noticeable vibrations. The engine noticeably runs out of breath near the top end, so you must plan your overtakes well in advance, but we caution against trying to go past equally speed-aggressive vehicles.
Honda has deliberately kept the Activa's silhouette familiar. It does not try to look fast while standing still. Instead, you get a clean, functional shape that is clearly meant for a wider demographic, from college students to older riders. For instance, we can clearly see how the TVS NTorq 125 or the Suzuki Avenis 125 look more edgy on the road; that’s exactly the design choice Honda has avoided here, despite the younger audience flocking to such elements more than ever.
In contrast, the Activa’s sheet metal body panels are a big selling point, offering a sense of durability that many plastic-bodied rivals do not have. The seat height is low and welcoming, and it easily accommodates shorter riders, allowing them to plant their feet firmly on the ground.
According to Mihir,
"The top-end offering brings premium features like keyless operation and alloy wheels to the most successful scooter in India."

Proportions & Stance
If we talk about its rivals, the Activa’s competition is mostly focused on scooters that look simple and practical by design instead of adopting aggressive profiles.
| Model | Length | Wheelbase | Kerb Weight |
| Honda Activa 6G | 1,833 mm | 1,260 mm | 106 kg |
| TVS Jupiter 110 | 1,848 mm | 1,275 mm | 106 kg |
| Suzuki Access 125 | 1,870 mm | 1,260 mm | 107 kg |
Compared to the TVS Jupiter 110 or the Suzuki Access 125, the Activa is shorter at 1833 mm. Moreover, even though it’s lighter in weight, this can sometimes be misleading, as the weight ratio often varies between the variants of these scooters, even if marginally. The Access 125’s lowest kerb weight is around 103 kg, for example.
Build Quality & Materials
The paint quality is consistently glossy across all panels. Switchgear plastics feel robust, built to survive years of harsh sunlight and monsoon rains. The metallic body means minor scrapes will not result in shattered panels, which is a big relief in crowded parking lots.
The manufacturer offers the scooter in a handful of simple yet attractive shades.
- Standard & Deluxe: Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
- Anniversary Edition: Features a unique matte steel black finish or a Pearl Siren Blue with golden accents.

The scooter’s exterior is simple, avoiding flashy stickers or overly sharp edges. The manufacturer retained the basic design language but added modern touches to keep the product relevant. The H-Smart badges on the newer models sit quietly below the main logo, showing off the tech upgrade without shouting about it.

Lighting & Front Identity
- The front houses a bright LED headlamp on the Deluxe and H-Smart trims, vastly improving night-time visibility.
- Halogen turn indicators also flank the front fascia, keeping the classic scooter look alive.

Side Profile & Rear Section
- The side profile features smooth, flowing lines rather than heavy creases.
- At the rear, the large tail lamp cluster is highly visible, though it sticks to halogen bulbs.
- A sturdy pillion grab rail sits right above the external fuel filler cap.

Practical Integration
Honda moved the fuel filler cap outside, which means you no longer have to lift the seat at the petrol pump. You can access the fuel lid and the under-seat storage area without using the physical key on the top variant, as long as the fob is near the scooter.
According to Kingshuk,
“Not much else has changed for the Activa 110, but the addition of these smart features definitely makes the daily commute a whole lot more comfortable.”

Honda positions the Activa as a premium commuter. The base model offers standard steel wheels and an analogue console, while stepping up to the top trim gets you alloy wheels and the much-talked-about smart key switch.
| Variant | Key Features | Ex-Showroom Price (Approx.) |
| Activa Standard | Steel wheels, halogen headlamp, analogue console | Rs. 78,004 |
| Activa Deluxe | Alloy wheels, LED headlamp, analogue console | Rs. 87,903 |
| Activa 25-Year Anniversary | Exclusive graphics, alloy wheels | Rs. 87,474 |
| Activa H-Smart | Smart key fob, alloy wheels, keyless start | Rs. 91,450 |
Buyers heavily depend on the Activa for its fuel efficiency, and the model delivers solid numbers. Its 109.51 cc engine offers some good balance between peppy city responses and low daily running costs. If you keep a light wrist and stay under 50 kmph, the scooter returns highly respectable figures.
Heavy traffic and aggressive throttle inputs will naturally pull the efficiency down, but it remains easy on the wallet. Here is a breakdown of the expected mileage based on different riding scenarios.
| Riding Condition | Observed Mileage |
| Claimed Figure | 47 kmpl |
| Real-World City | 45-48 kmpl |
| Real-World Highway | 50-52 kmpl |
| Aggressive Riding | 40-42 kmpl |

The Activa 6G is priced slightly higher than some of its competitors, such as the TVS Jupiter, but it justifies this with its improved performance, refined engine, and feature-rich package. For riders seeking a reliable, comfortable, and efficient scooter, the Activa 6G is a strong contender.

The brand constantly updates its most popular scooter to keep it relevant, and its latest iterations pack some clever electronics that genuinely improve your daily rides.
Instrumentation & Connectivity
- The standard models still get a plain analogue display even in 2026.
- However, the higher variants have a TFT screen that looks quite modern and crisp.
- The display provides essential trip data and syncs with your smartphone via Bluetooth for call alerts.
Practical Technology & Storage Integration
- Honda has cleverly placed the fuel-filler lid outside.
- The storage bin is deep enough for a full-face helmet or your evening groceries.
Mihir singles out their benefits,
“Apart from this, the fuel filler lid and the under seat storage can also be accessed without the need of using the physical key, so long as it is around the scooter's proximity.”
Safety Technology
The top variant essentially turns this family scooter into a highly secure vault. It features an anti-theft immobiliser that shuts down the engine if someone tries to use a duplicate key.
Kingshuk mentions,
“This H-Smart system introduces four core features: Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe, and Smart Start.”
Riding this 109.51 cc scooter is remarkably easy and stress-free, as its chassis feels amazingly light, and its overall balance suits typically crowded Indian streets well.
City Handling
Darting through heavy traffic is where this machine shines brightest. The steering is light; it allows you to flick the scooter into tight gaps with zero fuss. The silent ACG starter ensures a quiet, vibration-free ignition every single time.
Highway Stability
On highways, the two-wheeler holds its ground reasonably well up to 60 kmph, but push it any faster, and the motor begins to struggle, as is typical for a 110 cc segment scooter. Crosswinds at higher speeds will also make the front end feel slightly nervous; expect some wobble here, which can be dangerous.
Suspension Behaviour
The telescopic front forks and the three-step adjustable rear shock easily soak up everyday bumps. Even though it crashes through the deepest potholes with a firm thud, regular undulations are still filtered out nicely.
Rider & Pillion Comfort
- The floorboard is flat and wide, offering plenty of legroom.
- The seat feels plush for quick city dashes.
- Long highway trips will eventually make the saddle feel too stiff for comfort.
Honda did not compromise regarding options for the Activa. It’s got four main variants, each one priced a bit differently from the others.
Which Honda Activa 6G Should You Buy?
- Standard Variant: It is the cheapest way to bring this reliable workhorse home. You miss out on the LED headlamp. But the proven 7.84 bhp engine remains exactly the same.
- DLX Variant: For a slight premium, you get bright LED lighting and a few extra aesthetic touches. It is the best mix of value and visibility.
- H-Smart Variant: If you want top-tier convenience, this is the one to pick. The smart key setup is genuinely useful when your hands are full.
- 25th-Year Anniversary Edition: Available in two colours, this one doesn’t bring any noticeable hardware upgrades, but it’s still something you can check out if you’re a big-time Honda fan.
The 110 cc space has multiple brands fighting for the average commuter's attention. TVS, Suzuki, and Hero remain the biggest threats to Honda's dominance here.
The Activa is mostly challenged by the Jupiter 110 and the Suzuki Access 125, two equally fuel-efficient scooters with good ride quality and handling characteristics. There is also the Hero Pleasure Plus that starts from a lower price point. The Activa sticks to its superb reliability, as it has often done throughout the years, to beat off the competition.
Segment Comparison
| Model | Engine Output | Claimed Mileage | Key Strength | Ex-Showroom Price |
| Honda Activa 6G | 7.88 bhp / 9.05 Nm | 47 kmpl | Bulletproof reliability | Rs. 78,004 - 91,450 |
| TVS Jupiter 110 | 8 bhp / 9.8 Nm | 53.84-53.85 kmpl | Plush ride quality | Rs. 98,371 - 1.10 Lakh |
| Suzuki Access 125 | 8.7 bhp / 10.2 Nm | 45 kmpl | User-friendly | Rs. 98,437 - 1.20 Lakh |
| Hero Pleasure Plus | 8 bhp / 8.7 Nm | 50-52.1 kmpl | Lightweight handling | Rs. 68,054 - 71,523 |
- Choose the Honda Activa 6G if you want a fuss-free ownership experience and great resale value.
- Choose the TVS Jupiter 110 if you prefer a sharper design and softer suspension.
- Choose the Hero Pleasure Plus if you have a tight budget and want a peppy, agile runabout.
- Choose the Suzuki Access 125 if you like your ride to be friendlier with you, and you also like Suzuki’s reputation for building efficient engines.
Pros
- Bulletproof engine reliability
- Wide service network access
- Convenient external fuel filling
Cons
- Basic analogue instrument cluster on lower trims
- No front disc brake option
- High-speed stability is strictly average
Verdict
The Honda Activa 6G does not attempt to be a sporty, thrill-seeking machine. Instead, it fully embraces its identity as a practical, everyday workhorse. It quietly gets you from point A to point B without any unnecessary drama, and the tried-and-tested 109.51 cc engine is the smooth operator throughout the entire ordeal, delivering reliable power for your grocery runs and office commutes.
Kingshuk raves about its most unique feature,
“Ever lose your scooter in a crowded mall parking lot? Just press a button on the fob, and all four indicators will flash, making it easy to spot your ride in a sea of vehicles.”
Sure, it lacks the punchy performance of 125 cc rivals, and the feature list on base models also feels slightly stingy. While the design might feel a bit too familiar and safe, the build quality is clearly built to last. The introduction of the smart key adds a modern touch that buyers will appreciate in crowded parking lots. If you simply want a dependable two-wheeler that you can fill it, shut it, and forget it, this Honda is the safest bet in the market today.
