Ariel Motor Company has announced plans to introduce a limited edition Atom 3.5R. We have seen the 3.5 version in 2012 with a chassis derived from the V8 and Mugen versions and now the company has announced that a few upgrades to this power packed car will make it even hotter.
The 3.5 R will get the same Honda Civic Type R-sourced 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder, supercharged engine with an increase in the output figures. The new version will get 40bhp more taking the figure from 310bhp to 350, all thanks to a new charge cooler.
The engine will be mated to a 6-speed Sadev paddle-shift gearbox and the 3.5R will make use of Ohlins TTX dampers as well as bespoke Kumho high-performance tires. The car is already available on order.
