ATUM, an EV charging solution brand of Visaka Industries, has announced setting up its first solar-powered charging station - ATUM Charge in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The charging station comes with a 5.2KW ATUM Solar Roof, which is an electricity-generating solar roof that has been patented by the company in India, the United States, and South Africa. In fact, ATUM says that it's the world's first electricity-generating solar roof.

Commenting on the launch of their newest EV charging station in Mumbai, Vamsi Gaddam, Joint Managing Director, said, "We are pleased to announce that, with the assistance of our specialists and R&D team, we have added a new chapter to our quest for sustainability in Mumbai, ushering in a new era of green revolution. ATUM says that with a continual rise in EV production and sales, the load on traditional sources of power such as thermal power has also increased, and this puts additional strain on the power grid, exacerbating the country's power crisis. Whereas ATUM Charge enables the entire electric vehicle charging proposition to transition to 100 per cent solar, and since the process is decentralised, it is less draining on the grid.
