The 2025 MG M9 is a luxury electric MPV set to make its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It represents a significant step forward for MG Motor India as it ventures further into the luxury electric vehicle market.

Design and Features The MG M9 has a modern, boxy silhouette with a flat roofline and a tall glasshouse, typical of luxury MPVs. It features thin DRLs and headlights positioned below, with a large air intake at the front. The rear design includes a wide, connected tail lamp. Electric sliding doors add to its convenience, while inside, the vehicle offers premium features such as a freestanding 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument display, and a continuous air conditioning vent across the dashboard. The second row features captain seats with individual touchscreen controls, massage modes, and three-zone climate control.

Powertrain and Performance The MG M9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery pack that drives a 180 kW electric motor. This setup delivers a maximum torque of 350 Nm, offering a range of up to 430 km on a single charge based on the WLTP cycle.

Market Position and Pricing Positioned as a luxury MPV, the MG M9 is expected to be priced around ?70 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It will be available through MG's premium 'Select' dealerships and is set to compete with models like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire.

Another electric MPV that will hit the Indian roads this month but at the luxury end of the segment is the MG M9. We got our first brush with this over 5 meter long MPV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year and now JSW MG Motor India is set to launch it in the Indian market. The M9 will be retailed through the recently opened premium MG Select outlets.

The MG M9 is essentially a rebadged version of the Maxus MIFA 9 MPV that is on sale in global markets. It sports a boxy silhouette, flat roofline, and a tall glasshouse and gets thin DRLs, connected tail lamps and electric sliding rear doors. The cabin gets a freestanding 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital cluster while the second row has captain seats with massage functions. A 90 kWh battery promises a claimed range of up to 430 kms.
