Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 1.40 Crore

Mercedes-Benz India has launched new AMG Line variants of its GLS SUV: the GLS 450 AMG Line and GLS 450d AMG Line. Priced at Rs 1.40 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom), respectively, the new versions carry a premium of Rs 3 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 1 lakh extra for the diesel. Let's take a look at what the premium has to offer.

The AMG Line package essentially brings AMG-specific treatment for both the exterior and interior of the GLS. On the exterior, the SUV gains sportier design cues including revised bumpers with larger air intakes, body-coloured wheel arches and side sills. Aside from this, it gets larger brakes with calipers bearing the Mercedes-Benz lettering.

As for the interior, the cabin receives several AMG-specific updates such as a flat-bottom three-spoke AMG steering wheel, aluminium-finished pedals, and AMG-branded floor mats. Customers also have the option of the Night Package, which adds black styling elements to the wing mirrors, window surrounds, roof rails, and 21-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the GLS 450 AMG Line is powered by the same 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine producing 375 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The GLS 450d AMG Line gets a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine churning out 362 bhp and 750 Nm. Both versions are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission, achieve 0–100 kmph in 6.1 seconds, and have an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

Mercedes-Benz also shared that it has sold 16,000 units of the GLS in India to date. In Q1 FY2026 (April–June), it sold 4,238 vehicles, up 10 per cent year-on-year. Sales grew in both core and top-end segments, with the core lineup -- C-Class, E-Class LWB, GLC, and GLE -- also seeing a 10 per cent rise. The GLC and GLE made up 60 per cent of total sales. EV sales surged 157 per cent year-on-year.
