MG Motor India has received a strong demand for the Hector Plus SUV which was launched last month and now is getting ready to usher in the Gloster

The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India today released the sales numbers for the month of August 2020, registering a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth after six months. The company's total sales for last month stood at 124,624 units, a growth of 17.1 per cent as compared to the 106,413 vehicles sold in August 2019.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 has completed one year in the Indian market, and so far, the company has sold over 25,000 units of the MPV. First launched around this same time in August 2019, the XL6 is based on the company popular MPV, Ertiga, and is sold via its premium dealership network, Nexa.

The Maruti Alto brand has now crossed the 40 lakh sales mark in August 2020 and has been the first car to 76 per cent of its buyers.

Ashok Leyland has recorded loss in the first quarter of 2021 owing to the coronavirus lockdown with no operations for almost two month of the quarter.

According to the data recently shared by automotive insights and analytics provider, JATO Dynamics India, Korean and French carmakers, namely Kia Motors and Renault witnessed an increase in their market share in July 2020.

The production figures were dominated by the Bolero Power Plus (sub four metre Bolero) at 3079 units as compared to 3775 units, which is a decline of 18.43 per cent.

At 19.19 per cent, the year-on-year (YoY) slump in Maruti Suzuki's production last month is much lesser than the 55 per cent YoY production decline it recorded in June 2020. It has witnessed a month-on-month (MoM) uptick of 162.63 per cent in July 2020 in production numbers.
