The auto industry had an underwhelming festive season in 2018 with a host of factors contributing to the disappointing numbers. However, after a slump in sales, the Indian automobile market is on the road to recovery, according to the Federation Of Dealers Association (FADA). The dealer association said that the industry was showing signs of revival post the festive season with the drop in fuel prices contributing to the de-growth. The passenger vehicle sector though dropped by 3 per cent in sales in December 2018, whereas the two-wheeler segment increased by 11 per cent year-on-year hike in volumes.

Harley-Davidson LiveWire US Prices Announced

The electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycle has been priced at $ 29,799 (around Rs. 21 lakh), with deliveries beginning later this year in the US. Harley-Davidson also announced two more electric concepts at the ongoing CES 2019, or Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Okinawa i-Praise Receives 450 Bookings Ahead Of Launch This Month

Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech has announced that it had received 450 bookings for the upcoming Okinawa i-Praise electric scooter. The company has bagged the number of bookings in just 15 days with a strong demand from Tier II and Tier III cities. Bookings for the i-Praise commenced last month across the company's 200-odd dealerships pan India. Okinawa has received bookings from Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Nasik, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Ambala, Vishakhapatnam, as well as Mysore, Bulandshahar, Gorakhpur, Warangal, Trichy, Trissur among other cities. The new Okinawa i-Praise is scheduled to go on sale later this month and will come with a detachable lithium-ion battery as one of its major feature highlights.

US based electric-two-wheeler manufacturer, Zero, has teased a new fully electric motorcycles on its social media channels. The new bike could be a naked roadster and will be unveiled on 25th January, 2019.

Fuel Prices Rise In Karnataka As State Government Hikes Taxes By 2 Per Cent

The Karnataka coalition government increased the state tax on petrol and diesel by 2 per cent with effect from January 1, said an official statement on Saturday. "As the fuel prices declined after fall in crude oil rates in the overseas market since November, the state tax has been revised 2 per cent to 32 per cent on petrol and to 21 per cent on diesel since January 1, 2019," said a statement by the chief minister's office here.
