Pros Cons JAWA 350

Pros

  • The timeless styling with classic chrome touches and improved fit and finish make it appealing.
  • You can easily cruise at 90-100 kmph on highways, while returning about 27.5 kmpl on an average.
  • Its liquid-cooled engine is refined and offers meaty low and mid-range performance.
  • The assist and slipper clutch keeps the lever action light to ease usage while riding in traffic.
  • A long wheelbase and front suspension, along with its 790 mm seat height gives it good road presence.
  • Adequate clearance reduces the risk of scraping the exhausts or centre stand when riding fast around bends.

Cons

  • Weight has increased by 9 kg, to 194 kg, and makes the bike slightly heavier to handle.
  • The softly damped front end combined with the stiffly sprung rear shocks makes the suspension setup feel mismatched.
  • Vibrations can be felt via the handlebar and footpegs between 60-80 kmph.
  • The design and position of the instrument cluster require some getting used to.

Verdict

The Jawa 350 is a clear step forward over the older Jawa Classic. The rev-happy engine has an improved mid-range grunt, a light clutch action, and classic styling which makes it hugely appealing for the masses.

Preetam Bora mentioned in his review that, “The Jawa 350 may be a thoroughly updated model, but it’s a definite improvement over the earlier Jawa Classic. Better engine refinement, overall quality improvements as well as the sense of being a slightly more substantial and better-built motorcycle definitely supports the new Jawa’s case.”

What does not work for this bike is its stiff rear ride quality, extra weight, and mid-range vibrations that can be deterring for some. Even so, with the improved build quality and accessible ergonomics, the Jawa 350 is the bike to plonk for, especially if the styling is the biggest appeal.
