Mercedes' product offensive continues in the Indian market and this time around it's the new generation of the CLS. This is not the first time the company is bringing the CLS to India. In fact, Mercedes-Benz has brought the previous two generations to India too and though they might have not sold in India with the same volumes as the other cars from the company's stable, it's got a fair bit of fan following and sales. In its third generation, the new Mercedes-Benz CLS is more in line with the company's current design language. It gets a more aggressive face and the longer bonnet looks imposing now. The new LED DRLs and the slimmer grille draw inspiration from the AMG GT Coupe.

Earlier today we brought you news on how bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga have begun with a booking amount of Rs 11,000 at Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships across the country. And now, new detailed pictures showcasing the Maruti Suzuki seven seater MPVinside and out have surfaced. The new Ertiga will be launched in India on November 21, 2018 and is expected to have a price tag of between Rs 7-11 lakh. The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will also be available with both a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre K15 engine making 103 bhp while the diesel is a 1.3-litre DDIS 200 engine making 89 bhp. Both cars will get a 5-speed manual gearbox with the petrol also getting a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. There will be no diesel automatic Ertiga at the time of launch and no factory fitted CNG Ertiga either. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government in January 2019 for expanding its current production facility in the state. The Korean carmaker is planning to invest Rs. 7000 crore in India. The management of Hyundai Motor India, led by its Managing Director and CEO, Y K Koo, vice-president corporate affairs, B C Datta, assistant vice-president (Finance) N Ramesh called on Chief Minister K Palaniswami at the Secretariat and had a brief interaction.

Honda Car India is considering launching an electric vehicle (EV) in India by 2023-24 according to a report published by Economic Times. The electric car which will be launched in India will be one of the company's global models which will be produced after 2019 after the Japanese carmaker rolls out its electric plan for a wide set of market. The vehicle that will make its way to India could be a 'B' segment vehicle the development of which is under process for the Indian Market.

Mahindra & Mahindra has added a new variant to its long-running Scorpio SUV with the new S9 variant. The Mahindra Scorpio S9 trim is priced at Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and sits below the S11 trim in the line-up. Interestingly, the Scorpio S9 variant was originally available when the current generation of the SUV was introduced in 2014 and is now being re-introduced. Mahindra says the new variant will be available across the company's dealerships pan India from today and comes with a host of features and creature comfort. The S9 trim is about Rs. 1.4 lakh cheaper than the S11 version, and about Rs. 60,000 more expensive than the S7 trim.

Passenger Vehicle (PV) sales is back on the growth track in October after witnessing a slump in the previous month. The PV segment recorded a marginal growth of 1.55 per cent in October selling 284,224 units in the domestic market compared to 279,877 units in the same month last year. The major gainers in October are utility vehicles (UV) which posted a growth of 3.90 per cent at 82,414 units compared to 79,323 units in October last year followed by vans segment which grew at 3.55 per cent selling 16,410 units in October against 15,848 units in the corresponding month last year. However, the growth of passenger cars in the same month was nominal at 0.38 percent selling 185,400 units against 184,706 units in the same month last year.
