Hyundai India sold 45,791 units (domestic + exports) in September 2021 recording a drop of 23.6 per cent when compared to 59,913 units.

MG Motor India has recorded a slump in MoM sales which is primarily attributed to the chip shortage leading to supply constraints at the carmaker's end.

In September 2021, Maruti Suzuki India's total sales stood at 86,380 units, witnessing a 46 per cent decline compared to 160,442 vehicles sold in September 2020. The company says that its sales volume was severely impacted due to a shortage of electronic components like semiconductor chips.

Toyota recorded a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 14 per cent as it sold 8116 units in August 2021 while its year-to-date (YTD) sales went up by 98 per cent.

Bajaj sold a total of 361,036 two-wheeler units in September 2021, which is 11 per cent less than 404,851 units sold in September 2020.

A total of 151,737 EVs and plug-ins were registered in Europe in August 2021, with sales up by 61 per cent year-on-year, allowing the EV segment to achieve the second-highest ever monthly market share at 21 per cent.

Lamborghini India has confirmed that it is very much on track to achieve record sales in the 2021 calendar year. Compared to the first half of 2019, Lamborghini has seen a growth of 20 per cent in H1 2021.

The commercial vehicle space was one of the more badly affected segments due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the gradual reopening of the economies the CV industry too started to recover. However experts believe real growth is still a bit far away.
