Updated Ford Figo Spotted Testing In Brazil

- The updated Ford Figo will get a new and improved Dragon petrol engine
- Ford will most likely bring the updated Figo to India by 2019
- Ford will first launch the updated Figo in Europe
Ford updated the Figo hatchback for India back in 2015. Without wasting much time, the American car-makers have commenced with their plans for an updated Figo for the European market as well as India. Although, Ford has not yet revealed any plans for the next generation Figo hatchback for India, it was recently spotted testing in Brazil by an Autos Segredos reader. The India-bound Ford Figo will come with updated cosmetic changes while the engine options remain the same.
The 2018 Ford Figo (or Ka in Brazil) will feature a new and more powerful 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon petrol engine which will also power the upcoming EcoSport. But, whether the new Dragon engine is coming to India is not known yet. Ford will continue to offer the Figo in 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. Reports also suggest that the new generation Figo will get an option of an automatic transmission with the new Dragon petrol engine.

As far as the design elements go, not much can be talked about as of yet, as the entire hatchback is covered with heavy camouflage. However, reports suggest that the front and the rear of the hatchback will sport a new and refreshed look. The front bumper will get new lower air intakes with headlights to have a revised look. At the rear, the bumper will get a revised look while maintaining Ford's signature look. The updated hatchback might also get an optional new design multi spoke black alloys.
On the inside, the 2018 Ford Figo will have a refreshed touch with the central console to get new updates. Ford is mulling to launch the much talked about touchscreen infotainment system, which was till now missing in the Figo. Apart from this, not much can be speculated.

When launched, the 2018 Ford Figo will compete with the likes of New Maruti Suzuki Swift, 2017 Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago and Honda Brio in India. We expect the 2018 Ford Figo to be priced slightly higher than the current generation on offer.
