Having introduced the Volkswagen Polo and the Vento GT Line earlier this month, Volkswagen India has now extended new GT Line trim to the Ameo subcompact sedan. The company has updated its website with images and details on the Volkswagen Ameo GT Line that is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the diesel version. Prices for the petrol version are yet to be announced, but the model is likely to be priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is same as the Highline Plus. The new trim adds sporty cosmetic upgrades to the model including the new Sunset Red paint scheme.

It was an exciting second round of Volkswagen Ameo Class 2019 as the races of the weekend saw different outcomes. While the first race of the season saw Jeet Jhabakh take the lead in the championship, the second round had Pratik Sonawane taking the top spot in the feature race on Saturday, and Saurav Bandopadhyay at the top in the second race on Sunday. For Round 2 of the 2019 Ameo Class, the action shifted to the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT).

Volkswagen Motorsport India's first round of the 2019 National Championship Ameo Class saw Jeet Jhabakh secure the lead with two wins out of three races. The Hyderabad-based driver was at his dominant best winning Races 1 and 3 over the weekend, while Race 2 was one by Bangladesh based driver Avik Anwar.

Volkswagen India launched the Ameo subcompact sedan in India in 2016 and now close to three years later, reaching that number with the growing competition in the segment, is quite an achievement.

The Ameo comes with a host of features like cruise control, rain sensing wipers along with static cornering lights and the dynamic Touchscreen multimedia music system with AppConnect, Auto air-conditioning system.
