Volkswagen Ameo GT Line Introduced For The Festive Season; Priced At Rs. 9.99 Lakh

Having introduced the Volkswagen Polo and the Vento GT Line earlier this month, Volkswagen India has now extended new GT Line trim to the Ameo subcompact sedan. The company has updated its website with images and details on the Volkswagen Ameo GT Line that is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the diesel version. Prices for the petrol version are yet to be announced, but the model is likely to be priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is same as the Highline Plus. The new trim adds sporty cosmetic upgrades to the model including the new Sunset Red paint scheme.

The Volkswagen Ameo Cup recently completed its drivers' selection programme for the 2019 season, and registered the highest-ever turnout for the championship. The series saw more than 1600 registration and over 125 appearances for the programme, of which 15 drivers were selected to compete in this year's championship. The shortlisted drivers will be tutored and trained by Volkswagen Motorsport India to compete in the one-make championship set to begin in June this year. Volkswagen Motorsport India has announced the start of registrations for Drivers Selection for the tenth edition of the touring car series and third edition of the Ameo Cup Series. The one-make championships are intended to select regular individuals with a skill behind the wheel and transform them into race car drivers. The driver selection round will be held at the Indi Karting Track in Kharadi, Pune, where the drivers will be selected based on their performance in the karting sessions. Drivers will have showcase consistency in performance, understanding of racing lines, lap times, driving attitude and versatility as part of the selection process. For those looking to register, the last date is February 3, 2019.
