Pros Cons of Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled

Pros

  • Fantastic off-road experience
  • Cruises well on highways
  • Decently loaded with electronics

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Not for short riders
  • Limited service reach

Verdict

The Scrambler Desert Sled is near perfect for someone upgrading from a smaller motorcycle, or for someone who wants to get back into motorcycling after a hiatus, or for someone who wants to begin learning how to ride off-road. The Desert Sled does offer a unique proposition, with retro-cool looks, entertaining performance and decent off-road ability. You can use it for the occasional long ride, and certainly do decent off-road riding on it.

Pros Cons BMW G 310 GS

Pros

  • Versatile budget ADV motorcycle
  • Good Ride quality
  • Comfortable riding position

Cons

  • No traction control or cornering ABS
  • Expensive
  • Not a true off-roader

Verdict

The BMW G 310 GS offers good performance on the road, be it smooth or broken. It is also game for mild off-roading and light trail-riding but anything more extreme, you might want to look at other options and at ₹ 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) it doesn't quite fall in the realm of affordable. If you are looking for something more rugged and industrial, you could check out the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is almost half the price of the G 310 GS.
