Bimota Working On Adventure Touring Bike Based On Kawasaki H2 SX

- Kawasaki owns over 49 per cent stake in Italian brand Bimota
- The Bimota touring bike will be powered by a 998 cc inline-four engine
- New Bimota bike will be based on Kawasaki H2 SX
Italian motorcycle brand Bimota revealed two new models at the EICMA 2021 show in Milan last month. But the firm is also working on a new hub-steering adventure touring model under the Tesi name, powered by the supercharged inline-four engine from the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX. In an interaction with a British publication MCN at the EICMA show, Bimota CEO Pierluigi Marconi confirmed the new model, and that it will be introduced within the next two years. The news came just a few hours after the firm introduced the 2022 Bimota KB4 sports bike and the KB4 RC naked at the EICMA 2021.

The new Bimota KB4 unveiled at EICMA 2021 comes with a suite of electronics sourced from Kawasaki, which include - cornering management systems, cruise control, power modes, ABS, an up and down quick-shifter, and traction control
Although no details have been revealed about the touring model in the Bimota Tesi line up, the 998 cc, four-cylinder engine produces a claimed 197.2 bhp, a little less than the sportier siblings. The H2 SX now gets a Bosch radar-powered cruise control system, and it could just be introduced in the Bimota touring bike as well. The hub-centre steering chassis will be a unique feature for the adventure touring space, in addition to the massive power output of close to 200 bhp!
"We are developing something new with a Tesi chassis and we will see it either next year, or the year after. Until now, Tesis were only made for the sports segment. We'd like to put the Tesi name to adventurers, tourers, and bikes like that," the Bimota CEO is quoted as having said.

Along with the new KB4, Bimota has also revealed a naked RC version of the motorcycle, called Bimota KB4 RC, which will arrive in 2022
It's been just two years since Italian motorcycle brand Bimota was revived, with Kawasaki Motors Europe acquiring 49.9 per cent stake in Bimota. The brand continues to be an Italian company, based in Rimini and employing Italian designers and craftsmen. The only difference is that future Bimota motorcycles will all be powered by Kawasaki engines. Bimota was founded in 1973 in Rimini, Italy by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri and Massimo Tamburini. The company takes its name from the first two letters of the surnames of the founders. Bimota concentrated initially on building high-quality motorcycles around existing engines, customising top models of Suzuki, Honda, Ducati and Kawasaki.
