Gogoro Passes 200 Million Battery Swapping Mark

- Gogoro has been deemed the leader in battery swapping tech
- It also has its electric scooters and a wide network of swapping stations
- Gogoro will soon launch in India and China as well
Taiwan based battery swopping giant Gogoro has reached a new milestone with battery swapping as per research first Guidehouse Insights which now lists it as the global leader for light electric vehicle battery swapping. This means it has overtaken the likes of Honda, KYMCO, Immotor.
"Gogoro has differentiated itself from the competition through its early and compelling vision for light EV battery swapping. It offers an extensive product portfolio across the battery swapping supply chain, a strong track record on quality and performance in its product line, and an unmatched partner network highlighted by several of the world's largest two-wheeler OEMs," said Guidehouse Insights senior analyst, Ryan Citron.

Gogoro is known for its battery swapping technology, which may be introduced in India
In its home country of Taiwan where it has more than 400,000 monthly subscribers. Riders can also buy Gogoro's electric scooters which have a top speed of 80 km/h and then subscribe to the battery swapping service and simply swap the battery when it runs out of charge at any of its swopping stations.
Now, it has been done more than 200 million times which is a record. And this is going to accelerate even further as it has announced a partnership with the world's largest two-wheeler maker Hero in India. It has similar deals in China as well. It will soon be even entering a small but lucrative market of Israel.
Gogoro's batteries are now being integrated into vehicles of third parties enabling new manufacturers with a turn-key type of solution that comes with its own swapping network.
