Gran Turismo 7 Teaser Video Released, March 2022 Release

- We finally have a date for the game March 2022
- The game was slated for release in fall 2021
- The game will be the first one in eight years since GT 6
One of the staples of the PlayStation brand, the Gran Turismo franchise has been one of the longest-running race simulation games of all time and its latest iteration Gran Turismo 7 is now finally coming to both the PS4 and PS5 in March 2022. Last year, when Sony revealed the PS5 it teased the game but now there is a full trailer that showcases its awesome graphical fidelity, something that matches the best of what Microsoft and Xbox have to offer with the latest version of Forza Motorsport. Gran Turismo 7 was showcased as a part of a 40 minute PlayStation showcase broadcast on September 9.
The game shows off a Porsche 917 concept car that was first seen in 2019. There are glimpses of numerous tracks and other many cars including a Ferrari, apart from the game having its numerous customisation options. There are also tons of classic cars that include a family portrait of the Nissan Skyline GT-R which has been a staple of Gran Turismo games for the longest time.
In the past few years, Sony has dropped the ball with the Gran Turismo franchise which has resulted in Microsoft's Forza Motorsport catching up and perhaps usurping it. Gran Turismo 6 launched eight years ago before even the PlayStation 4 was launched and then Gran Turismo Sport was launched. Originally, the 7th iteration of the game was supposed to launch in the fall of 2021 but then it was delayed.
Both Sony's output and pace of development have been not ideal while Microsoft despite launching Forza Motorsport years after Gran Turismo has caught up and maybe perhaps overtaken it.
