Highlights

Imagine a rear-wheel drive car, studded with a 5-litre V8 engine delivering 467bhp of power and 527Nm of torque, and doing 0-60m/h in 4.5 seconds. Now add a 10-speed automatic paddle-shift gearbox, carbon fibre door, and an optional carbon fibre roof. If all this information has still not managed to excite you, maybe the price tag of almost $1,00,000 will.

According to Koji Sato, Chief Engineer behind development of the LC 500 revealed that for the development of the Lexus LC 500, the guys at Lexus wanted to create a car priced like the BMW 6 Series with emotional experience of a Maserati.

Where the automotive market, globally, is moving towards a future which is full of crossovers, hybrids and electric vehicles, Lexus has decided to go old-school by making a naturally aspirated V8 engine, and clubbing with a rear-wheel drivetrain. It also has long hood, low roofline and short boot making it look as intimidating as it should. If all this wasn't enough, the Lexus LC 500 has been generously given 21-inch wheels for an unmistakable look.

The Lexus LC 500 is expected to hit international markets by late 2016, and will be labelled as a 2017 model. If the performance of the Lexus LC 500 lives up to the expectations, it might give Lexus the sport reputation it badly desires.
