Automobili Pininfarina CEO Tempts Elon Musk & Global Celebrities With Christmas Message

Its Christmas day and with the festival comes a flurry of lights, joy and if you're lucky, some snow too! It's the festive season in all its glory and spreading the joy and cheer is what today is all about. And of course, the gifts! And in a rather cool move that made all of us here at carandbike have a mighty chuckle of joy, our dear friend and CEO or Automobili Pininfarina, Michael Perschke has been sending out some rather interesting Christmas messages via twitter to celebrities and more importantly, some competition in the automobile world too! the video message attached to the tweet reads, 'You've been really, really good this year!.... So, here's what you could order as a gift to yourself in 2019" and ends with a teaser of the new Pininfarina Battista. Now, while it is customary for automakers to have some sort of a Christmas themed advertisement or a campaign around this time of the year, we thought this approach was particularly interesting as one of the people Michael has tweeted out to is none other than the founder of Tesla, Elon Musk.

  2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class To Get A New Diesel Variant

  The Mercedes-Benz G-Class range will soon be getting a new entry-level variant which will be a diesel variant. The new variant is the G 350D and will be powered by the OM656 diesel engine as standard which is a BS6 compliant diesel engine. The engine is equipped with a selective catalyst reduction (SCR) converter with an ammonia slip catalyst which is seen in the recently launched Mercedes-Benz BS6 diesel engines. Additionally, the fuel system is also treated with AdBlue which separates Nitrogen and water, thus making it harmless for the environment. Though we have this BS6 engine in several Mercedes-Benz models in India, there is no certaintyof the G350d making it to our market as Mercedes has traditionallysold only the top-end G63 AMG variant in India.

  Delhi Govt Withdraws Order Of 18-Fold Hike In Parking Charges

  The Delhi government withdrew on Monday, 24 December, its order of an 18-fold hike in one-time parking charges for cars and annual fees for commercial vehicles from 1 January. The Delhi Transport Department had, on Friday, approved a recommendation for the hike by three municipal corporations of the city. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, on Monday, directed withdrawal of his department's previous order due to "irregularities" in it.

  Hyundai Sees Russia Auto Market Growth Slowing In 2019

  South Korea-based carmaker Hyundai Motor Co. expects growth in the Russian auto market to slow sharply next year, the head of its Russian branch said on Monday. Automakers have warned that Russia's plan to raise the value-added tax in 2019 would hit car sales, which have only just started to recover from four years of stagnation. Hyundai forecasts car sales in Russia will grow 5-6 percent in 2019, after an expected increase of 12.8 percent this year, the company's Russian managing director Alexei Kalitsev told reporters.

  Mahindra Dealers Start Taking Bookings For The XUV300

  M&M Becomes India's First Authorized Vehicles' Recycler

  Mahindra in association with Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited (MSTC) is exploring a new business opportunity in India which is in line with Government's upcoming Vehicle Scrap Policy which aims at scrapping end of life vehicles (15 years or more old vehicles). Mahindra Accelo (a completely owned subsidiary of Mahindra) has formed a joint venture with MSTC to pioneer in the Vehicle recycling business under a new brand- CERO (Mahindra MSTC Recycling PVT. LTD.). The CERO brand had received accreditation by the Delhi Government on December 21, 2018 and is India's first authorized recycler of vehicles.

  Reduction In Fuel Prices A Positive Sign For Indian Auto Sales

  Passenger Vehicle sales in India has witnessed negative growth in some of the past months and the increase in fuel prices was one of the major reasons behind it. Now that prices have neutralized to quite an extent in last few days, the sales are again expected to be back on the growth track. Petrol and diesel prices have been reduced on Sunday by Rs. 20 paise and Rs. 18 paise respectively. The per litre price of petrol in Delhi was reduced to Rs. 70.17 per litre from Rs. 70.37 per litre and the price of diesel was reduced to Rs. 64.10 per litre from Rs. 64.28 per litre. Along with Delhi, prices were also reduced in other metro cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
