TVS Motor Company registered total sales of 238,983 units in April 2021, including domestic sales of 226,193 units.

In April 2021, Bajaj Auto clocked sales of 3,48,173 units, overtaking market leader Hero MotoCorp. Hero is still ahead with scooters included, while Bajaj has just the Chetak electric scooter, apart from motorcycles.

Like most manufacturers, Bajaj Auto posted zero sales in April 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown. The company registered sales of 126,570 units in the domestic market in April 2021.

Ashok Leyland recorded nil sales in April last year along with other automakers as the entire nation went under a strict lockdown to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus.

Like other automakers, Royal Enfield also reported nil sales in April 2020 as no vehicles were sold due to nationwide lockdown after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mahindra has recorded a MoM drop of 12.36 per cent in the domestic market selling 26,130 units as compared to 29,817 units sold a month ago. However, its exports went up by 20.81 per cent at 1393 units as against 1153 units sold in March 2021.

The substantial drop in monthly sales in attributed to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as the nation is grappling with the second wave of COVID-19 crisis which is claiming more lives than before.

Honda Cars India witnessed a Month-on-Month (MoM) growth of 27 per cent, as compared to 7103 units sold in March 2021.
