Tesla Cybertruck Prototype Doesn’t Have An AC

- The prototypes of the Cybertruck perhaps don't have the HVAC system installed
- Elon Musk has been driving around the Cybertruck prototype in Austin himself
- Musk has revealed the prices and specs of the Cybertruck will change
Tesla is running very late with the production of the Cybertruck which was unveiled just before the pandemic in 2019. Originally, the car was supposed to launch in 2021, but now it has been repeatedly postponed -- as of now to mid 2023. But while this has happened, Elon Musk and his team have been enhancing the Cybertruck in wake of some stupendous competition in the Ford F150 Lightning, the Rivian R1T, the Hummer EV and many more in the wood works. It has been running prototypes at its Austin Gigafactory.
Now a video by Jack Griffiths Garage which has now been redacted has revealed that one of the prototypes doesn’t offer air conditioning as an option. This was revealed on Instagram but likely the Tesla team didn’t want that information to be out in the open so it has been pulled down.
In the video it can be seen that the driver moves over to the Cybertruck touch screen, but couldn’t find an option for the air conditioning. Likely, as this is a prototype, Tesla hasn’t installed the HVAC system on the car yet.
Elon Musk has revealed that the original price of the Cybertruck will not be viable anymore thanks to inflation, the semiconductor shortage and the rise in the costs of procuring batteries. He said not just the price but also the specs of the electric pickup truck will change.
“A lot has changed since then, so the specs and the pricing will be different. I hate to give sort of a little bit of bad news. But I think there’s no way to sort of anticipate the inflation that we’ve seen and the various issues,” said the world’s richest man at the recent Tesla shareholder event.
