Taking cues from the Cross Polo, Toyota took the sedate looking Etios Liva, put it on a steroid cycle, slapped on a lot of SUV-ish bits and brought in the Etios Cross. Basically think of it as the rough and ready version of the road going Liva. Which it isn't.
Toyota has issued five separate recalls that cover 6.39 million vehicles. The cars that are part of this recall are manufactured between 2004 and 2013 and a total of 27 models sold all around the world are affected by various mechanical and electronic issues, making it the second-largest recall in the automaker's history.
The Toyota Etios Cross X edition has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 6.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Kolkata). Presently it's only available in the Eastern and North Eastern regions, while Toyota will officially launch the car in other states on September 28.
A special-edition version of the Toyota Etios Cross is set to be launched soon by the Japanese carmaker in India in order to boost flagging sales for the crossover. This variant, to be called Etios Cross Dynamique, will receive a few cosmetic tweaks to its exterior and interiors, and a few additional features.
