Pros Cons of Harley-Davidson X440

Pros

  • Seating posture is like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, but it is slightly lighter for easier handling.
  • Its oil-cooled single-cylinder engine pulls strongly from just 2,000 rpm while showcasing a brawny exhaust note.
  • It has Bluetooth connectivity for music and turn-by-turn navigation, while the top variant adds eSIM-based functions like geo-fencing and remote engine immobilisation.
  • A trellis frame with upside-down front forks delivers eager, planted, and predictable handling.
  • Well-judged six-speed gearbox uses a light clutch action which makes city commutes effortless.
  • The brakes have dual-channel ABS and offer a sharp initial bite and progressive feedback.
  • You can benefit from relaxed high-speed cruising at about 90-100 kmph.

Cons

  • Once you cross 4,500 rpm, there is some engine buzz through the handlebars, footpegs, and seat.
  • Fit and finish feels inconsistent, especially around the headlamp plastics, rough frame welds, and loose panel shut lines.
  • Front brake lever travel feels long, and fouls with your fingers holding the throttle during hard braking.

Verdict

The Harley-Davidson X440 gives you traditional roadster ergonomics with impressive real-world riding dynamics. The excellent low-end torque, an entertaining exhaust thump and composed cornering manners help take the fight to Royal Enfield’s established 350 cc rivals.

What does not go in its favour are the mid-range vibrations and improper fit/finish like the rough plastic bits. Even then, if you want to own a Harley Davidson with good everyday usability and engaging road manners, the X440 does actually stand out.

Pros Cons Yezdi Roadster

Pros

  • Refined engine
  • Comfortable ride quality
  • Good performance

Cons

  • Limited sales
  • Looks similar to RE Meteor
  • Uneven panel gaps

Verdict

As an everyday motorcycle, the Yezdi Roadster's engine has been tuned for precisely that kind of use; short dashes around town, and for the occasional long-ish jaunt. The stance and overall design of the Yezdi Roadster are somewhat of a hit and miss, and even in the dynamics front, the Jawa Forty-Two feels more agile and planted. But if it's a true-blue nostalgia-filled Yezdi you're looking for, the Yezdi Roadster still looks the closest to the old 250 cc two-stroke Yezdi bikes from the '70s.
