Steps on How to Install Power Windows IntoYour Vehicle Without Professional Help
Step 1:Purchase an automatic window kit that is custom made to fit into your car's model and making.
Step 2: Read the given instructions that are provided with the power window kit very carefully and make sure that you have all the tools that will be needed during the process of the installation.
Step 3: Get rid of the door panel by getting rid of all the hardware that has been holding its place. Remove the plastic cover that is on the base of the door.
Step 4: Get rid of the factory automatic regulator by removing the screws that have been keeping it in place and removing it through the door's smaller hole. To hold the glass up, put a rubber door stopper in between the door and the window.
Step 5:Plug in the wiring, bind it into the new mechanical regulator and place it in the door. Make sure you align it as well as you can into the already existing holes in the door and secure it with screws. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on all the other three doors.
Step 6:Cover the remaining holes left behind from the manual window. Drill into the markings on the template in order to make holes for screws that are going to hold the switches of the panel.
Step 7: Use a hot blade or razor to make holes in the template to put the switches in. Plant the switches in the back of the panel and apply some foam to keep away shorts in the wires.
Step 8: Lastly, secure the panel and template that is framing the switches to the door. Then repeat steps 6 to 8 on the other three doors.
Step 9: Place the automatic window system into the factory ground cart in the vehicle and power the system by retrieving the ignition switch wire; connect all the plugs into the doors and your power windows are ready to go!
