Lyriq, an all-electric mid-size SUV, was unveiled by GM in August 2020 in a move to transform its traditional combustion engine lineup to an electric one.

BrightDrop has signed a new deal to supply EVs to retail giant Walmart Inc and expanded its supply agreement with delivery firm FedEx Corp.

Indian start-up EVage has raised $28 million from U.S.-based venture capital firm RedBlue Capital, the company said on Friday.

Demand for nickel is expected to jump over the next decade as EVs go mainstream. Nickel bolsters energy storage in a battery's cathode, which in turn extends an EV's range. The auto industry is scrambling to boost EV range with large investments in research into more energy-dense batteries.
