A fun fact is that each team is allowed to produce 2 cars in every session, but they do not produce 2 cars since it is not cost-efficient. But they make enough parts to assemble 2-3 more cars other than the racing one. According to FIA regulations, it is unnecessary to change the cars every year, but the car is not in a position to use after a single session, and thus, the team makes changes every year for better speed and aerodynamics.

Reason For the Introduction of Changes
- Engine requirements: F1 chassis is modelled to be as powerful and light as possible, and the lightweight chassis is easily broken in a collision. And in some seasons, the mid-season upgrades by the team change the chassis. So every year, they simply make a new chassis and transfer only the parts that need to be carried over to the "new car."

- New Regulations: FIA's top priority is safety and speed. Hence, every year, it introduces new aerodynamic changes to make cars safer and bring out their new version according to time, technology, and evolution.

Do F1 Cars Change Mid-Season?
F1 Cars evolve according to regulations and technology every year, but the changes are made more radically mid-season.
The FIA imposes some restrictions on changes, but to adapt the track, improve the car, and remove the errors or faulty parts, the car teams make some changes to their cars from race to race. Teams modify the car parts that seem to be flawed or have room for mistakes during the season, but the essence of the car remains the same. For example, the 2018 Mclaren completely changed its front wing from the first race to the last due to its fault.

Is it Compulsory to Introduce A New Car Every Year?
No, but the regulatory changes and the techno innovation make it ideal for changing the car every year. Since the previous year's cars will be slower and obsolete compared to the other team's cars. There might be teams that could not bring new cars economically, but it becomes shameful and demotivating for the racer and the team to bring the car without the new changes.
