German carmaker BMW on Thursday said it had ordered more than 10 billion euros' ($11.07 billion) worth of battery cells from Chinese battery cell maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co and Samsung SDI.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), said sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) fell 45.6 per cent in October from year-ago levels, following a 33 per cent decline in September.

According to a draft prepared by the Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Invest India, the government has proposed to provide land to these companies to setup a factory along with giving them water, electricity and road access.
