Fuel Prices Hiked Again; Petrol Touches New High Of Rs. 108.99/Litre In Delhi

The state-run oil marketing companies on Saturday increased fuel rates across the country. According to details listed on the oil retailer's website, both petrol and diesel witnessed a price of 35 paise each in the National Capital. With the latest revision, petrol in Delhi is slowly inching towards the Rs. 109-mark, currently retailing at Rs. 108.99 a litre. Diesel prices in the city soared to Rs. 97.72 a litre from Rs. 97.37 a litre. Fuel rates differ from state to state depending on the value-added tax (VAT) levied by the state government.

In Mumbai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs. 114.81 a litre and Rs. 105.86 a litre, respectively

In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs. 114.81 a litre, up by 34 paise, while diesel costs Rs. 105.86 a litre. Petrol and diesel are being retailed at Rs. 105.74 a litre and Rs. 101.92 a litre in Chennai. Customers in Kolkata will have to shell out Rs. 109.46 a litre for petrol and Rs. 100.84 a litre for diesel. In Bengaluru, petrol is currently priced at Rs. 112.79 a litre while diesel costs Rs. 103.72 a litre. Fuel rates have been priced at Rs. 113.36 a litre and Rs. 106.60 a litre in Hyderabad.

The fuel rates vary from state to state in the country due to the value-added tax or VAT.

Fuel rates remain the most expensive in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, as customers will have to shell out Rs. 121.25 a litre for petrol and Rs. 112.15 a litre for diesel. In Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district, petrol has touched Rs. 120.52 a litre while diesel is priced at Rs. 109.74 a litre. Fuel prices in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra have reached Rs. 117.75 per litre and Rs. 107.06 per litre, respectively. In Bhopal, petrol and diesel soared to Rs. 117.71 a litre and Rs. 107.13 a litre, respectively.
