Meet the New Audi A6 Range

The four-ringed master recently revealed the new Audi A6 range, and the refurbished model features styling revisions, upgraded lighting options, a new infotainment system and new transmissions. The A6 Saloon and Avant ranges, will be available for booking in the UK from September, with deliveries set to start in late 2014. The updates will also be shared by the new A6 allroad, S6, S6 Avant and RS 6 Avant models. That said, Audi is expected to bring in the updated A6 to India next year.
Here's a summary of what's new in the updated range:
a. Design
The new A6 retains its sharp lines and taut surfaces but sports a revised Singleframe grille, air inlets, bumpers, side sills, rear lights and the tailpipes. The A6 SE models in the UK will also get xenon head-lamps as standard, while the S line versions and above will get LED headlights with dynamic 'sweeping' rear indicators. However, matrix LED headlights, will be offered as optional features for all A6 and S6 variants and as standard for the RS 6 Avant.
b. Engine
The engine line-up for the new A6 and A6 Avant will comprise four TDI engines, with all engines complying with Euro 6 emission standards. The 2.0-litre TDI 4-cylinder will offer 187bhp, while the trio of 3.0-litre 6-cylinder TDI units get a single-turbo V6 with 215bhp, followed by a 268bhp variant, and the top of the range unit, the 3.0 TDI biturbo that produces 317bhp. Whereas the Audi S6 and S6 Avant use the 4.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, a twin turbo V8 that puts out 444bhp.

c. Transmission
While the high-performance diesel will come mated to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, the others are paired to either a new 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. A6 variants with front-wheel drive sport a redeveloped dual-clutch transmission.
d. Performance
Audi S6 - 0 - 100Km/h: 4.4 seconds
Audi S6 Avant - 0 - 100Km/h: 4.6 seconds
Audi RS 6 Avant - 0 - 100Km/h: 3.9 seconds; Top-speed: 304Km/h
