Next Generation Hyundai Verna Spotted Testing In Spain

- The next-gen Verna will get a host of engine options
- The car shares its design and style cues with the new Elantra
- The new Verna will be launched in India sometime this year
The Hyundai Verna has always been a cult favourite of sorts in India. The Verna, in its current generation is also sold in Russia, China and Korea and is known as the 'Accent' in these markets. This will be the fifth generation of the Verna. It was sold in European markets till 2008, after which it was taken off the markets.
The new generation Verna is built on the lines of the Hyundai i30, we believe that Hyundai will offer a host of petrol and diesel engine options along with an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission unit.
(New Generation Hyundai Verna-Profile)A closer look at the front end reveals a hexagonal grille and headlamps similarly styled to the Hyundai Elantra. In fact it might not be wholly wrong to call this the baby Elantra. The roof-line at the rear looks more arched than the current model. The rear too sees a lot of design revisions, taking inspiration from the Elantra with the design of the tail lamps and bumpers.
(New Generation Hyundai Verna-Rear)The interior will see a raft of changes as well. Rumoured to be all-black, it will also feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system coupled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There might be other cool features such as climate control, a sun-roof and so on. Since it has been spotted tesing in Spain, it will be first launched in European markets and then it will make its way to India. Upon its launch, it will be positioned below the Elantra and will be Hyundai's cheapest sedan on offer. The next-gen Hyundai Verna will come to India sometime this year, although there is no definitive timeline. It has already been revealed in China. Keep watching this space as we bring you up to date with more information.
