Top 5 Highlights: BMW M340i

BMW India recently launched the M340i in the country and it sits right on top of the 3 series range. There's no doubt we were excited to drive the car because it holds so much promise for a market like India. In fact, BMW is selling the car in the country in limited numbers but the fact remains that it giving cars like the Audi S5 and the A35 Limousine some strong competition.

It's the fastest and most powerful 3 Series money can buy and given BMW's ride and handling capabilities, we are left with no doubt, that this car will definitely be a hoot to drive on the highway and the track as well. But there are a few things we wanted to highlight about the car, just to bring out a different aspect of it. So, here are 5 highlights of the BMW M340i.

1. The BMW M340i features a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine under the hood along with an all-wheel drive setup. The engine is tuned to churn out 387 bhp and a solid 500 Nm of peak torque and it is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. You get paddle shifters as well.


3. Compared to the regular 3 Series, the M340i sits lower by about 10 mm. The sharp lines and features can be seen on the rear section as well, which also features a set of wide LED taillights. It also features the M Sport exhaust with dual outlets.

4. The cabin of the new BMW M340i gets all the bells and whistles seen on the standard 3 Series sedan and then some. From the sunroof to the 12.3-inch instrument panel- and even the large 10.25-inch touchscreen with connectivity tech- all are standard.
