TVS Apache RR 310: Price Expectation

- The Apache RR 310 is the flagship sport bike from TVS
- It will be positioned as a global product
- We expect it to be priced around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom)
TVS Motor Company will launch the company's flagship motorcycle - the TVS Apache RR 310 on December 6, 2017. The TVS Apache RR 310 is based on the BMW G 310 R, which is the result of collaboration between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad. The G 310 R is manufactured at the TVS manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The Apache RR 310 also shares the same engine as the BMW G 310 R, but that's where the similarities end. The RR 310 is a full-faired sport bike and will be priced competitively.

We expect TVS Motor Company to price the new Apache RR 310 in the region of Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). If TVS manages to price it just under Rs. 2 lakh, then it will certainly be very competitive pricing, given the RR 310 will compete with the likes of the KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R, Bajaj Dominar, and even the KTM 250 Duke. Even if TVS prices is around Rs. 2-2.2 lakh (ex-showroom), the Apache RR 310 will still provide competitive pricing, to carve a niche for itself in the entry-level performance bike segment.

The TVS Apache RR 310 is powered by the same reverse-inclined, single-cylinder, 313 cc, four-valve, DOHC engine which makes around 34 bhp of maximum power at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission and the BMW G 310 R has a kerb weight of 158.5 kg. Expect the Apache RR 310 to weigh more, given the addition of the fairing. Like the BMW, the Apache RR 310 will also come equipped with a 300 mm front disc brake and a 240 mm single disc at the rear wheel.
There've been several spy shots of the upcoming Apache RR 310 undergoing test rides on public roads, so expect a lot of hi-quality equipment, like LED projector headlamps, vertically stacked, full-digital multi-information display and LED taillight. If TVS manages to price it between Rs. 1.8 lakh and Rs. 2.2 lakh, then it will certainly offer a full-faired, well-engineered motorcycle to one of the fastest growing motorcycle segments. But it will also compete against a wide range of entry-level performance motorcycles.
Here's a look at some of the possible competitors to the TVS Apache RR 310.
