The FAME 2 scheme has given electric mobility a shot in the arm and is a step in the right direction to make India a viable market for electric vehicles. Though the announcement has not given any special consideration to electric cars, the expansion plans of fast chargers and other infrastructure has garnered some interest among carmakers to take the Indian car market more seriously as far as electric cars are concerned. Maruti Suzuki is already gearing up to launch the electric WagonR next year and Hyundai group companies (Hyundai-Kia) also have said that it will start the local assembly of electric vehicles in India.

With six months in tow, the auto sector is looking at a brighter 2019 and the plethora of new launches lines are expected to improve the sales momentum. Here's a look at the top cars lined up for launch in the second half of 2019.

The 2019 Altroz seen here comes in the same yellowish-gold shade that we saw on the show car in Geneva, and by the looks of it, this will be the car's key colour option and it looks like the company has started shooting the production version for a commercial already, so, yes, we assume that the launch of the car is just a few months away.

The test mule wears heavy camouflage and the only thing that gives away the details of it being electrified are the yellow 'high-voltage' stickers on the hood and doors. In silhouette, the car looks very similar, in fact almost identical to the track-focused Ferrari 488 Pista and F8 Tributo. However, it's expected to look even more angular with a razor-sharp profile all around that will make it look distinctive and different from other Ferraris. Despite the camouflage, we could see the angular headlamps peeking out of the cover and at the rear, there is a massive diffuser underneath the dual-exhaust pipes. Then there is also the integrated spoiler for drag efficiency and other than these, nothing else can be figured out just yet.

The Audi Q3 Sportback is among the seven new SUVs the German carmaker has lined-up for this year. The company shared its plans in its 130th Annual General Meeting where it also mentioned about organising a dedicated event to unveil the Q3 Sportback as there are no Auto shows or major Auto events lined up during that time. The Coupe SUV will be showcased at the Frankfurt motor show as well in September.

The new Skoda Superb Scout is different from the Skoda Combi Estate which was sold in Europe. It looks rugged equipped with matte black body claddings and also gets larger 18-inch alloy wheels while 19-inchers are optional. The ground clearance is up by 15 mm and there are subtle body enhancements in the profiling in a bid to add to the rugged appeal. The roof rails and window frames are chrome-plated, and the wing mirror housings shine in an aluminium look and there are special SCOUT badges as well. The elongated body style and other additions have also made the Superb Scout heavier than the Superb sedan and it tips the scale at 2200 kg.

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been around for almost four years in its original version and with the completion intensifying after the arrival of products like the Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue, Maruti is finally trying to spice up the range.
