    BMW's latest innovation i8 Electric Hybrid Supercar has finally made its Indian debut at the Delhi Auto Expo, today. The Supercar was first showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and is expected to hit the Indian shore in early 2015. The BMW i8 Electric Supercar is a sheer German beauty, which has all to excite a true car enthusiast. The hybrid sport car features a stretched out bonnet with pronounced grille, low stance and sporty bumper line along with various other exciting styling elements.

    BMW called upon the master blaster - Sachin Tendulkar, to unveil the i8 Hybrid supercar. The company also mentioned that the car will make its way to India as well and will be launched at the end of 2014. Obviously the i8 will come as a CBU unit here.

    The BMW i8 Electric Hybrid Supercar comes powered with a turbocharged 1.5-litre BMW twin-power turbo petrol engine that sports an intelligent energy management system. This powertrain produces a peak power output of 231bhp with 320Nm of torque, and combined with an electric motor, it generates a maximum power of 131bhp with 250Nm of torque.

    The gasonline engine delivers power to the front wheels of the car, while the electric motor transmits power to rear wheels. Boosted with both the power sources, this hybrid supercar can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill within 4.5 seconds. The car impresses equally with its fuel efficiency figures. It returns a class-leading 40km/l of mileage.
