2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift likely to get major alterations

The Indian automajor, Mahindra & Mahindra has been testing the Scorpio facelift for quite sometime now, however, nobody has a clue when the company will finally roll out this much anticipated product. Earlier, it was rumoured to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February. Though, the company hasn't officially said anything on the changes the facelifted Scorpio will come up with, the test mules suggest the vehicle to receive major alternations both inside and out. The 2014 Scorpio facelift is expected to get new headlamps, revised grille and differently designed front bumper. The rear too will receive new tail-lamps, tailgate and rear bumper, which will make it look sportier than before.
We have also learned it from our sources that the company has given some significant alternations to its dashboard as well, in order to make it look more up-market than before. The car is likely to get richer upholstery as well. Other changes could be a new steering wheel and revamped centre console. In terms of features, the Scorpio facelift might borrow some features from the XUV500.
There might be no changes under the hood, though the company might tune the engine for better refinement and efficiency. The Scorpio has a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel unit that belts out an impressive 120bhp.
As we all know and agree to the fact that there is no better time to launch a product than the festive season, so expect the facelifted Scorpio to be rolled out around that time only.
