Skoda Vision IN Latest Updates

The Skoda Vision IN concept previews the company’s first model to be built on the new MQB A0-IN platform. The concept SUV made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and the production version of the SUV is slated to be launched in 2021. The Skoda Vision IN SUV will compete in the compact SUV space, with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, and Volkswagen’s upcoming SUV Taigun. In fact, the production model of the Vision IN will essentially be Skoda’s version of the Volkswagen Taigun.

Visually, the Skoda Vision IN gets all the signature elements that are associated with the Skoda brand like – the accentuated butterfly grille with illuminated vertical slats, flanked by a pair of sleek headlamps with LED lights and integrated LED daytime running lamps. In fact, the Skoda logo at the centre is also illuminated and is made of real crystals, however, the production version will get a regular logo. The front bumper adds a rugged appearance with sharp lines, black cladding, and a faux silver skid plate.

The profile of the SUV features similar sharp character lines, with black wheel arch and side body cladding, along with sporty dual-tone alloy wheel and large roof rails. At the rear, we have the Skoda logo in the new format, with the letterings placed in the centre of the tailgate, with LED taillamps on each side. The bumper too is well-sculpted and features a faux skid plate with three vents like on the front bumper. The Skoda Vision IN is 4,256 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,671 mm.

The cabin of the Vision IN SUV uses vegan materials along with traditional Indian art of kalamkari to give it a distinct yet an Indian look. The seat upholstery is made of Pinatex, made of waste pineapple leaves while real leather has been substituted by natural leather and recycled plastic fibres. The centrepiece is the 12.3-inch free-standing display along with the customisable virtual cockpit and the crystalline gear lever.

Under the hood, the production version of the Skoda Vision IN will come with a 1.5-litre TSI petrol motor that will pump out close to 150 bhp and 250 Nm, while paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Vision IN concept can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.7 seconds and has a top speed of 195 kmph.
