What's New on Tata Punch Facelift 2026?
Introduction
- Tata Motors is all set to unveil the facelifted Punch on 13 January, 2026.
- This sub-compact SUV will receive an update, with the primary focus being on the styling and new features.
- The Tata Punch has been successful and one of the most popular models in the brand's line-up.
- In 2026, these updates will pump in new vigour for the Punch and help push the sales even further.

Exterior of the 2026 Tata Punch
- The updated Punch will get a few cosmetic changes.
- This includes a redesigned front fascia, with a split headlamp setup similar to the outgoing version.
- Even the alloy wheels have changed with a new pattern.
- At the back, the Punch gets new LED tail lamps with an integrated, connected LED unit.

Interior of the 2026 Tata Punch
- The Punch facelift could get a two-tone cabin.
- It will get a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and also a digital instrument cluster.
- It’s also obvious that the 2026 Punch will boast Tata's latest two-spoke steering wheel.
- We can expect Tata Motors to equip the latest iteration of the Punch with more features as well.

Powertrain of the 2026 Tata Punch
- The new Punch will be offered with the same powertrain options.
- This includes a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
- It comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT.
- Customers can also opt for a CNG version.
- This one uses the same 1.2-litre petrol engine with Tata’s Twin Cylinder Technology.

Expert Review on Tata Punch Facelift 2026
- Expert Rating
8.7/10

Pros
- Tata Punch is built on the ALFA platform, making it a robust and compact micro SUV with excellent ground clearance of 187 mm, perfect for rough terrains and urban roads alike.
- The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine delivers 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, providing peppy performance for city commutes, especially with the light and easy-to-drive nature of the 5-speed manual and AMT versions.
- It has scored a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, making it one of the safest vehicles in its segment, with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard.
Cons
- The AMT gearbox shows hesitation during gear shifts, particularly from first to third, which can affect the smoothness of the drive.
- The rear seat comfort is compromised due to limited legroom, and while it's a compact SUV, the back row can feel tight for taller passengers.
- The infotainment screen is relatively small at 7 inches and could be more responsive, with noticeable lag during operation
Verdict
Tata Punch is a strong contender in the micro SUV segment, offering a blend of SUV styling, solid safety credentials, and practical features at an affordable price point. While there are minor issues with the AMT gearbox and rear seat space, the overall value for money, robust build quality, and top-tier safety make it a great choice for urban families looking for a compact, safe, and stylish vehicle.

- Best car in this segment5.0Creative [2021-2025](Petrol)PerformanceMileageComfortCost of OwnershipValue for MoneySafetyStylingSales SupportI own creative variant and been using since 7 months with 5000 kms drive. Mostly I do highway run and I am very satisfied with the mileage 18-19kmpl in highways and little disappointed in city.. I get 13kmpl in city. Initial pick up is slow due to 3 cylinder engine and at 2500 rpm it’s power is outrageous and you like to drive more in highways…. Cabin is spacious because I weight 102 kgs and still I feel very very comfortable in drivers seat… trust me… and it’s very stable at a speed of 80-100 Kmpl in highways… if it’s very hot outside then you may feel little hot in car till the cabin cools… due to the hot outside it takes little time to cool cabin… but in evening it cools in rapidly…By Mahaboob AlikhanPosted on: Jun 05, 2022 10:42 AM153
- Tata Punch Cars - I Liked It4.0Pure(Petrol)PerformanceMileageComfortCost of OwnershipValue for MoneySafetyStylingSales SupportI liked the punch, but there is a huge price difference between the top model and the base model.I found the car a bit expensive, but the delivery is very long.So I may have to buy a Maruti car.By Vikram SinghPosted on: Mar 24, 2022 12:25 PM63
- Overpriced with less features3.0PunchPerformanceMileageComfortCost of OwnershipValue for MoneySafetyStylingSales SupportI booked Tata puch adventure variant AMT with Rhythm pack after it got 5 star rating in Global NCAP. I felt happy and booked online. But after seeing price, I cancelled my Tata punch booking due to overprice and less features. it costs around 7.34 lacks. No doubt, If you need safe car, purchase it but with very very less features. But Engine needs lot of refinement. Its 3 cylinder with very less mileage and noisy (noise will come in cabin). Moreover with AMT its we cannot bare that. With road tax and insurance its reached 9 Lacks nearly. So thinking that better to wait for BH registration. As I have transferrable job (I sold my Tata Tiago in Maharashtra and came to Karnataka due to pathetic RTO transfer procedure). All the best TATA for overpriced car. Expectation went to w(h)ell.By Girish ReshmiPosted on: Oct 25, 2021 12:23 PM36
