Pros Cons of Tata Punch

Pros

  • The turbo-petrol engine for highway sprints
  • Extensible thigh support
  • AMT automatic on the CNG
  • Six standard airbags and a five-star BNCAP rating

Cons

  • The touch-based climate controls are distracting
  • Rear-seat headroom is tight for tall passengers
  • The three-cylinder engine feels slightly loud

Verdict

By finally dropping a powerful turbo-petrol engine under the hood, the Tata Punch has now become a genuinely capable highway cruiser. Adding an AMT option to the CNG variants also makes it one of the smartest buys for heavy city commuters, while the digital cabin upgrades and the standard six airbags push it a step above many of its rivals. Some niggles remain, but they are negligible. The sheer road presence, high ground clearance, and tough build quality of this car make it a very logical purchase.

Bilal concludes,

“Tata has taken a car which has already worked so well and made it feel more usable and modern.”

Pros Cons of Tata Harrier

Pros

  • The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine
  • The 14.5-inch touchscreen
  • JBL Dolby Atmos audio system
  • Excellent ride quality on all road surfaces

Cons

  • The touch-sensitive climate control panel
  • No AWD or 4x4 option
  • The massive width hinders city parking

Verdict

With the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor, Tata has fixed its biggest shortcoming and made the Harrier accessible to a much wider audience now. Its suspension feels robust as ever, the massive rear-seat space is segment-leading, and the five-star rating means it can handle most of whatever challenging Indian road conditions throw at it. The distracting HVAC controls and inconsistent service standards at service centers can bother some, but for the most part, the Harrier’s toughness and loaded tech kit will overshadow everything else.

Seshan sums up the car,

“This new petrol engine fits the Harrier well. If you were on the fence purely because it was diesel-only, it now deserves a serious look.”
