2019 BMW X5 Caught Testing With Minimum Camouflage

We have already reported that BMW is working on a new generation X5 instead of a normal facelift. While the test mule with production ready parts was spotted a while back, reports suggest that the new generation BMW X5 will make its public debut later this year. The new generation X5 gets a host of cosmetic changes on the exterior as well on the inside, while it will be based on the company's CLAR platform. Under the hood, reports say that BMW will fit in a new and more powerful engine to improve it from its predecessor, while there are chances that the company might fit the SUV with a plug-in hybrid option as well.

Visible changes to the exterior include the new production LED headlights, fog lights and the huge front grille. The new look up front gives the X5 a muscular and brawny stance, much improvement from its previous version. In profile, the roof gets a slight arch so that the X5 has sleek look, but not too steep to make it look like X6. The D-pillar is quite thick, which may be hindrance to the visibility. However, to counter this, BMW has installed driver-assistance system to help the driver get out of tricky situation. At the back, the camouflage doesn't give much, but the exhaust pipes are visible at the bottom of the bumper.
