2022 Lexus LS Updated With New Features And Safety Tech

The Lexus LS is the brand's flagship offering and the automaker has updated the model for the 2022 model year with more features and safety technology. The update comes a year after the Lexus LS facelift made its debut with cosmetic changes. The new updates are under the skin and the model continues to sport the bold grille, sharp headlamps and a long profile. The updated LS will also make its way to the Indian market sometime next year. The model competes with the Audi A8 L, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the likes in the segment.

The new Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 gets an enhanced lens camera and millimetre-wave radar to expand the response and detection range
To begin with, the 2022 LS gets the new Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 that comes with a few hardware and software upgrades. This includes an enhanced lens camera and millimetre-wave radar elements to expand the response and detection range. The changes make the Pre-Collision System (PCS) much more effective than before. The PCS unit also includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection and Bicyclist Detection. Meanwhile, the premium Mark Levinson Audio System is now a standard feature instead of being a check box on the options list.

Lexus has revised the suspension on the 2022 LS as well as added thicker anti-roll bars
The 2022 Lexus LS also now gets a retuned suspension and chassis for the new model year. Revisions extend to the spring and damper rates for better handling. There are thicker anti-roll bars at the front and rear that should make for a more controlled body roll around a bend. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) has been revised with linear solenoids and control valves for more comfort. Other features and mechanicals remain the same with power coming from the 3.5-litre V6 petrol hybrid motor.
