Highlights

Most drivers on the road are guilty of having typed a text/ email or answered a call while behind the wheel. Interestingly, studies indicate that despite being aware of the dangers, a vast majority of people continue to do it anyway. So now there is a video game to help people understand the risks posed by using their phone while driving. The game, called SMS Racing, gives users a firsthand experience of the aforementioned perils.

The idea SMS Racing intends to deliver is serious though it employs a playful approach to deliver the message. The goal is to cross the finish line first, while answering texts - texts pop up during the race, and players have 10 seconds to answer them. If you run out of time, you lose a 'friend' - do it thrice and the game is over.

As you race to the finish line, the vehicle bounces along the road and icons from other cars pop up when their drivers are texting. Furthermore, the game is programmed for Samsung Gear VR goggles. Long story short, its creators have tried to make the game deeply engaging while delivering an equally serious message.
