100% Of Citroen Cars To Be Electric Or Hybrid By 2025

The number of plug-in hybrid and all-electric cars in the world crossed the 3 million mark at the end of 2017. It went up to 5 million by the end of 2018 and is expected to go to 13 million by 2020. This is one reason why most manufacturers are making sure that they have an electrification strategy in place so as to cater to the rising demand of electric vehicles. While many manufacturers have already defined their electric path, Citroen is still in the midst of rolling out its electrification strategy, but the plans are in place.

  MG Motor UK has announced the pricing and availability on the ZS Electric SUV that goes on sale in September this year. The MG ZS EV, as it will be called in the UK, is priced from 21,495 Pounds, going up to 23,495 Pounds (around Rs. 18.36-20.07 lakh), after the 3500 Pound government grant and the company's initial discount. It will be the brand's first electric vehicle in the UK. The new electric offering is a five-seater SUV based on the standard ICE versions and offers a full-sized boot in its EV guise making it a practical offering. The MG eZS, as it will be badged in India, has been confirmed as the automaker's next offering after the Hector and is scheduled for a commercial launch in December 2019. The eZS will lock horns against the recently launched Hyundai Kona Electric.

  American electric automaker Tesla's most affordable offering, the Model 3 has been awarded five stars in the latest round of the Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) crash tests. The Tesla Model 3 also scored 94 per cent for its range of safety assist systems, which is the highest safety assist score awarded to any new vehicle in 2018-19 protocols by the Euro NCAP.
