India is considering slashing import duties on electric cars to as low as 40%, two senior government officials told Reuters, days after Tesla Inc's appeals for a cut polarised the country's auto industry.

Revolt Motors has increased the pace of deliveries of its electric bikes after resuming production following a brief pause due to the pandemic.

This agreement is for an initial five-year term which can be extended if mutually agreed, with a start of commercial delivery set for 2026.
