Hyundai Tucson Spied Testing In Pune Ahead Of Launch

- The all-new Hyundai Tucson is set to be launched in October this year
- It will have a new 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol
- It will have manual and automatic transmission options
The Hyundai Tucson is all set to be launched in October, 2016 as was earlier reported. The Korean manufacturer wants to make sure that the Tucson is great shape before it's launched in India and therefore, it is testing the Tucson with full enthusiasm. One of the keen-eyed motor aficianados snapped off a few shots of the Tucson in Pune, with full striped camouflage. Hyundai India did have a few misgivings whether to launch the Tucson in India or not, with respect to the Diesel Ban. But ever since the ban was lifted, Hyundai breathed a sigh of relief and its plan of bringing in the Tucson in India was no more in limbo. The Tucson will be launched with an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces peak power of 179bhp and 400Nm. As far as transmissions go, the all-new Hyundai Tucson will come with a 6-speed manual unit. We also believe that the Hyundai will bring in a 1.4-litre turbo petrol variant along with the diesel as well.
(2016 Hyundai Tucson Spy Shot)The Hyundai Tucson was first launched in India more than a decade ago, in 2005. It was pulled off the portfolio owing to high prices and less sales. But this time, the Tucson will be positioned between the Creta and the Santa Fe. We believe the prices to be around Rs. 18 lakh or so. With the Tucson, the SUV line-up of Hyundai will be complete.
The upcoming Hyundai Tucson will be getting a long list of features like other Hyundai models with some of them being autonomous braking, blind spot assist, projector headlamps, DRLs and so on and so forth. It will be interesting to see how the Hyundai Tucson is received in the SUV crazy Indian automotive market.
