Audi has already shared plans about electrifying a host of its models including the A6 and A8 sedans. The company had also mentioned about introducing plug-in hybrids to the Q range and it looks like the recently unveiled Q8 coupe SUV will be the first electrified Q model. A test mule of the Q8 has been spotted testing and few elements are clear giveaways of it being the hybrid iteration.
Toyota has launched an updated version of its bestselling SUV in India. The Toyota Fortuner range now starts at Rs. 27.83 lakh for the base 4x2 diesel variant and go all the way up to Rs. 33.60 lakh for the top-end 4x4 diesel automatic variant, all prices ex-showroom, India. Toyota has only updated the diesel variants of the Fortuner while the Petrol 2.7 remains unchanged. The updates on the 2019 Fortuner, however, are limited to interiors and it remains identical to its predecessor in terms of looks and mechanically.
Toyota India has updated its bestseller in India- the Innova Crysta. The Innova Crysta range now starts at Rs. 14.93 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 22.43 Lakh while the Innova Touring Sport range starts at Rs. 18.92 Lakh and go all the way up to Rs. 23.47 lakh. The Innova Crysta is the market leader in its segment and its diesel variants are now updated with more features and upmarket interiors in a bid to tackle the competition better and stick to its segment-leader position.
Having teased its new convertible for weeks now, BMW India has finally launched the much awaited new generation Z4 Roadster in the country. Prices for the 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster start at Rs. 64.90 lakh for the sDrive20i variant, while the M40i is priced at Rs. 78.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). The all-new offering bring back the Z4 nameplate to India and has been developed in collaboration with Toyota. In fact, the new Z4 shares its engine with the all-new Toyota Supra that was revealed last year. The BMW convertible comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and bookings are open at the automaker's dealerships pan India.
Bentley is introducing a new special edition model to the Bentayga range and is calling it the V8 Design Series. The changes on the Bentley Bentayga V8 Design Series are limited to aesthetics in a bid to enhance its road presence. Bentley has taken the standard V8 variant and has updated it with special colour schemes and finish from Mulliner on the exterior as well as inside the cabin.
The Tata Tiago will get a mid-life update this year and a test mule has been spotted on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. We already know that the new Tiago will get design updates similar to the Tata Altroz and will embody Tata's new IMPACT 2.0 design language. The changes will be made predominantly to its face while the rear will be updated modestly.
The car's second row will fold forwards to allow access to the third row of course. The Triber's taller roof height and wide crossover-like proportions will allow for that access, while also giving Renault the chance to pitch the car as dare I say - a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza rival?
Volvo has unveiled the performance-oriented Polestar version of the XC60 and V60. Both the cars are plug-in hybrid models and are based on the standard T8 variants, however, will be faster. They are powered by the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol motor which is tuned to churn out 415 bhp (15 bhp more) and 669 Nm of peak torque (33 Nm more) and the engine is coupled with an electric motor. The Polestar powered XC60 and V60 are quicker to triple-digit speeds and can clock 100 kmph in less than 5 seconds.
