New Mitsubishi Compact MPV in the Works

Mitsubishi Motors is developing a new compact MPV for the growing markets. In fact, the company has already teased an image of the car, claiming that it will make its debut in 2017. The vehicle will first go on sale in the Indonesian market. Though the company hasn't revealed any plans of launching it in India, we think it will be a great product for our market since compact MPVs are gaining popularity here.
Though the teaser of the vehicle doesn't reveal much about the car, it looks like a 7-seater MPV. The compact MPV might be based on the Mitsubishi Concept AR that was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

The company says that since the vehicle is in its early development phase, it will go on sale only by August 2017. Since the vehicle is designed for the Indonesian market, where petrol cars are more popular than diesel, it should get a 1.5-litre petrol engine only. And if it comes to India, the company will have to develop or source a small diesel engine.
