Renault Kwid Climber Edition Launch Date Revealed

- The Kwid Climber edition will only be a cosmetic update
- The Climber edition will only be available in a 1 litre engine
- The car will launch on the 9th of March 2017
Renault has been at the top of its game ever since it launched the Kwid. It was a big risk In fact for a car maker to take on a market leader like Maruti Suzuki and be successful at that. The Kwid, with its baby-SUV styling managed to turn quite a few heads and the sales were soaring after which it has achieved many a milestones including surpassing the 1 lakh sales mark.
It's something that we've seen before at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept alongside the Racer. The Climber we saw back then stood higher off the ground and did justice to the word baby-SUV. Built for venturing away from the beaten track, the raised ground clearance, wide track, short overhangs. Renault however, has worked on this concept and from what we know, the Climber is going to be a cosmetic update of the car.

So the specifications of the car will not change and this includes the ground clearance. We expect it to get a bit more features and we hope to see it in the same Flame Orange avatar we saw at the Expo. Other design elements that could be included are the electric blue lining on its flared wheel arches and protective head-lamp housing, both of which add to its all-terrain feel.

As far as the engine is concerned, the Kwid Climber will come equipped with a more powerful 1 litre engine and we don't expect a bump in power either. The 1 litre engine produces 67 bhp and develops 91 Nm of torque and as we said, it won't change. The Kwid Climber will come in both the manual transmission avatar and the AMT. So, there are a whole bunch of options now available on the Kwid and someone looking for a peppy looking and driving car now have the option of the Climber.
