The passenger vehicle segment has finally started to witness signs of recovery in India. A majority of auto manufactures posted growth in their monthly sales volumes for August 2020, and according to Jato Dynamics India, last month, passenger car sales grew by 20 per cent compared to August 2019. Here are the top 10 best-selling cars in August 2020.

Tata Motors has released the sales numbers for the month of August 2020, during which the company's total sales, in the both domestic and international market, stood at 36472 vehicles.

The Eeco was launched in 2010 and Maruti sold over 1 lakh units of it in just two years.

Toyota Motor Corp on Tuesday reported a 23% drop in U.S. new vehicle sales in August versus the same month in 2019, as a two-month industrywide shutdown of auto production in the spring to halt the spread of COVID-19, as well as an uncertain economic recovery, weighed on sales.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India sold a total of 443,969 units in August 2020, which is an increase of 4.3 per cent in comparison to 425,664 units sold in August 2019.

Bajaj Auto sold 178,220 two-wheelers in the domestic market in August 2020, which is a growth of 3 per cent over 173,024 units sold in August 2019. The total overall sales including two-wheelers and CVs drop 11 per cent.

Royal Enfield despatched over 50,144 motorcycles in August 2020, compared to nearly 52,904 motorcycles in August 2019, registering a year-on-year decline of 5 per cent.

The increase in sales is primarily attributed to the Triber range which is now available with the option of an AMT gearbox as well.
