Spied: Volkswagen Ameo TDI With DSG Unit Spotted Testing

We had earlier mentioned in our reports that the Volkswagen is likely to offer its much popular DSG unit with the Ameo. Currently the Maruti Swift Dzire and the Tata Zest are the only two cars in the segment that offer automatic transmission, but both the cars come with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) unit. Whereas, the Volkswagen Ameo offers a DSG unit making it a much better value preposition.

In terms of looks the Ameo shares most of its design and style cues with its hatchback cousin, Polo. The front end of the car looks like a slightly enhanced version of the Polo but, the Ameo gets new headlamps, sporty front bumper, horizontal fog lamps, wide air dam and some considerable chrome detailing. At the rear the car comes with a stocky boot lid and all-new tail-lamps.
