SUN Mobility Partners With Greaves Electric For Battery Swapping Tech

- SUN Mobility offers battery swapping solutions and has a strong network

SUN Mobility and Greaves Electric Mobility have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together and evaluate the best possible solutions for electric vehicle customers in the battery swapping segment. As part of this partnership, the two companies will deploy swappable batteries for electric vehicles, in both electric two-wheelers and electric three-wheelers by utilising the same charging infrastructure. Greaves Electric Mobility has a range of electric vehicles across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, e-rickshaws and e-loaders, across brands like Ampere, Ele, MLR Auto. The SUN Mobility platform will address all these vehicles using 1,2,3 & 4 batteries, giving customers a one-stop solution.

Sun Mobility Battery Swap Points offers a network that is spread across 14 cities.
The SUN Mobility Quick Interchange Station (Swap Point) network is one of the largest in the country, and is spread across 14 cities and each Swap Point is able to dispense about 250 batteries per day, making it easy for Greaves Electric Mobility to quickly roll out this solution nationwide across its range of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Commenting on the partnership Ram Rajappa, Chief Technology Officer, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, "Through Greaves Electric Mobility, we aim to strengthen our leadership position in the electric vehicle segment and the provide best and affordable last-mile connectivity experience to our large number of customers across the country. SUN Mobility's global interoperable smart mobility solution involves modular SUN Mobility Smart Battery packs that are connected, safe, robust and efficient, a joint statement from the two companies announced. These batteries can be swapped in a matter of minutes, and the solution also works on pay per use model which allows users like individuals, e-commerce companies and fleet operators to easily adopt electric mobility for last-mile connectivity.
